So it’s been a while since I posted.... again... I vow I will try to make this a regular thing.

I’ve decided for this particular post, I’m going to write a list of songs I would consider my ‘anthems’.... I have several.

Here we go.

‘Who We Are’- Machinehead. I wanted to use this one as my walk out song when I competed in the final of Miss Alternative Australia, but alas, they wouldn’t let me. Robb's idea of using his kids in a creepy chorus in the beginning is genius, the song itself is damn amazing. I <3 IT! It pretty much sums up how I feel whenever someone starts making fun of me, or what I’m wearing, which doesn’t happen too much nowadays, but still happens. There was one instance in a nightclub a month or so ago where people decided that because I was wearing buckles, and torn fishnet that I must be into bondage and kept telling me so... Really? Brain much...

‘I Could Care Less’- Devildriver. Pretty much my ultimate ‘fuck you, and shut the fuck up’ song. It’s pretty self explanatory.

‘Beating on Death’s Door’- Lamb of God. This is possibly one of my favourite, if not my favourite song. It’s a big load of, ‘well... if you weren’t such an arsehole or an ignorant dumbass....’ It tends to remind me a bit of my highschool years with the pettiness that happens in our teenage years, but it can still be applied to many situations today, working in the hospitality industry, I feel this towards a lot of people... and a lot of man kind. They’re such an intolerable bunch for the most part, but I live in hope :)

‘Don’t Stop Dancing’- Creed. I know, I know... “Ew, Creed! Christian band!” I challenge you to go and look up their song “Bullets” and tell me what you think. I personally love Creed. I used to get up every weekend at 6am so I could watch all of Rage (A music video show we have in Australia). And I would always be excited whenever ‘With Arms Wide Open’ or ‘My Sacrifice’ would come on. For me, this song is a big ‘keep your head up and let your feet lead you.’ For the harder times, when it all just feels a bit too much.

And last but not least!

‘King of Fools’- Edguy. This would be another one of those, ‘fuck you’ songs. I do seem to like them. I love this song all over. Power Metal, how can you not love it!

And a quick update- I didn’t get through Miss Alternative, or a placing... I think they were looking for something a bit gothier... which I was/am not. Currently living in Melbourne, still looking for a house... And that’s the story of me to date.

Sorry for the absence!

Sorry I've been away, I have been so busy with work... >.< ]So much has happened!

My first photoshoot with a real photographer was with Cass from Black Sunshine Photography. She was really helpful as I had no idea what was going on, my boyfriend at the time also joined in with me and we got to do bits and pieces on our own, plus some joint photos, here are some of my favourites!

Make up and styling by me. :D

Next, photoshoot was with Richard. He'd come down on work for a few weeks and we had been meaning to do something for ages. There was a spot down at our local rivulet that I've been wanting to do a shoot in the second I saw it, so I finally got to do something there!!
One of the photos from this shoot also made it into my friend's blog Goths Up Trees! Who knew that a site from my little state could become so big! My picture was also featured in an article from the UK about the site, AWESOME!!
And last but not least for my update we have Miss & Mr. Alternative 2012! I won the heat for my state along with a friend of mine, now we shall take on the rest of Australia from our little inbred island! I can't wait for the finals! The Victorian finals are being held this week end then I shall wait eagerly for the email saying when we're coming to the mainland to show them what alternatives down here are made of! It's the first year we've been able to had the competition in Tassie as we just haven't had the numbers!

My outfit was made up of two halves, one side was an elm street shirt that I'd modified, tights, New Rocks, plus belts, buckles and studs... it was my "metal side". The other half was a corset, slit top, a black tulle tutu I'd made, and stockings I'd cut up plus a pair of PVC Swing Demonias to top it off, that was my 'Goth side'. I felt this was the best way to express who I was in the shortest amount of time. We only had 3 minutes on stage to make an impression. Obviously they were impressed and I was very happy that I got asked a question about my outfit! So excited for the finals!
                           Winners!
